BOROONDARA COMMUNITY STRENGTHENING GRANTS

Under an arrangement with the Boroondara Council, Balwyn Rotary contributes 30% of its annual income from the Camberwell Sunday Market to the Annual Grants Program. The Annual Community Strengthening Grants provide funding of up to $10,000 to community organisations, groups and clubs for one-off projects and equipment that support community strengthening initiatives and improve the quality of life of Boroondara residents.

Funding is distributed through the following five streams:

Grants are available for accessible recreation, sport and physical activity opportunities catering for the diverse and changing needs of the community, along with education, training and capacity building for groups and clubs.
  2. Creative Community – Arts and Culture
Grants are available for diverse arts and cultural programs, festivals, events and activities that articulate and enhance arts, culture and heritage practice across the municipality.
  3. Sustainable Community – Environmental Sustainability
Grants are available for projects and programs that encourage and enable sustainable living, less carbon emissions, less waste to landfill, biodiversity protection, waterway health, urban agriculture, walking and cycling.
  4. Healthy Community – Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Grants are available for projects and activities that promote safety, good health and wellbeing of individuals, families and community groups, across all ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
